Why are so many people so afraid to speak out and offer their opinions and comments about Eddie Long?

I've been extremely interested in hearing more about the recently exposed scandal Eddie was involved in. Sherri Shepherd made a comment on the view but no one else involved in the media seems to want to speak on it. Does anyone know why? I think he did molest those boys and should be faced with serious consequences and it makes me so upset that America is sweeping it under the rug as if nothing occurred!
