What's wrong with my tracphone?

Me and my father have been trying to activate our tracphones. My dads phone says his number, how many minutes he has, and it still says unregistered sim. Mine says my number, but it's the same as my dads tracphone number. My phone still says 0.00 minutes and unregisterd sim. Can anyone help with this???!!!!
