Would Uninstalling Itunes, and then reinstalling it, get rid of all my songs?

I have 1500 songs, those of which at least 500 are not registered by Itunes (Burnt Cd's). I'm having a problem burning my own cd's and I'm wondering if it's the software. If I Uninstall Itunes, then reinstall it, will I lose all my songs? I heard i'd lose the unregistered ones, but even then I don't want that to happen, that's too many to lose, and it would be extremely difficult to rebuild back to 1500.
